
Marine Turashvili (born in 1980), Master of Philology, she is currently scientific worker of the Folklore Department of Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature. In 2004 graduated Philological Faculty of Tbilisi Javakhishvili State University, was a post graduate student of Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature. She is a research associate at Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature and head of folklore archive.
He teaches the course “Fundamentals of Georgian Mythology and Folklore” at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, and two courses at the University of Georgia: “Georgian Mythology and Folklore” (Bachelor’s) and “Georgian Historical Orality and Mythos” (Master’s).
As an employee of the Folklore Archive and later the head, he has directly participated (as a coordinator and main performer) in the planning, implementation and management of scientific projects implemented in the archive. He is the author and performer of a number of local and international grants. In 2009, he received the scientific grant of the President of Georgia for young scientists.
Also, he is the winner of the 2019 Doctoral Education Competition. has participated in a number of international projects and researches as a key staff member; It aims to explore free narratives based on the study of oral histories.
In general, the analysis of oral histories in the context of political and social events is of the utmost importance in the study of such processes as migration, political and social upheavals, wars, terror, violence, etc. Consequently, stories obtained through interviews can be used in various types of research.
She is an author and a participant of up to 30 local and international research projects. She has published up to 35 scientific articles. Interests: Narratology and History of Narratology.
