
Irine Modebadze is a Georgian literary scholar and translator.
She is a Doctor of Philology, and senior researcher of the Department of Literary Theory and Comparative Studies of Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature. She serves a board member of the Georgian Comparative Literature Association (GCLA) and the member of international and regional associations ICLA, FIPLA, CCU.
The major field of Irine Modebadze’s scientific interest is comparative literary, Coucasian and Slavistic studies, Cultural Hermeneutics, Imagology, Translatology, Sociocultural and Intertextual studies.
She is an author of more than 100 scientific articles and co-author of more than 10 collective monographs; participant /speaker/ of many international congresses, symposiums and conferences and grant projects; Member of the organizing committee of the annual international symposium “Modern Problems of Literary Studies”; member of the International Scientific Committee of several international scientific journals.
