
Gocha Kuchukhidze is a literary scholar translator and editor.
He is a Senior Researcher at Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature of Ivane Javakhisvili Tbilisi State University.
Gocha Kuchukhidze graduated from the Faculty of Oriental Studies Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and the Department of Simultaneous Translation of Ilia Chavchavadze Tbilisi State Institute of Foreign Languages, in Arabian language.
He defended dissertations at Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature and Korneli Kekelidze Institute of Manuscripts and by the decision of the Board of Academic Experts of Georgia, initially he was awarded the degree of candidate of philological sciences (1999) and Doctor of Philological Sciences (2006).
Sphere of scientific work: literary studies, textology, linguistics, historiography, philosophy, theology, archeology…
His works (more than 300 publications /1993-2024), in addition to the scientific sets issued in Georgia, are published in the collections of Cambridge, Birmingham, Petersburg, Moscow, Šiauliai universities and other scientific institutions.
He is a member of Georgian Academy of Business Sciences, also editorial boards of magazines published by scientific-educational center “Dil Edebiyat ve Egitim Calismalari” (Elger – International Scientific and Educational Center /Azerbaijan), international scientific magazine “Buta” (Kafkas University /Kars, Turkey)…
Gocha Kuchukhidze has translated into Georgian poems by Heinrich Heine, Alexander Pushkin, novels by Egyptian writers: Tawfiq al-Hakim, Naguib Mahfouz, German, Russian, Arabic scientific works etc.
