
Nino Dolidze (PhD 2005) is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Arabic studies, Iv. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. She is a member of the Georgian Comparative Literature Association (GCLA).
The major field of Nino Dolidze’s scientific interest includes Classical and Contemporary Arabic Literature, Literary Theory, Comparative Literature, Theory of translation. She makes translations from Arabic, English and Russian languages. She translates fiction (prose, poetry) and scientific literature.
Nino Dolidze is an author of more than 70 publications. Scientific articles, translations and literary reviews are among them. Her monograph “Maqama Genre in Arabic Literature” was published by the Tbilisi State University Publishing House in 2010.
Translation from Arabic I saw Ramalla by Mourid Barghouti (300 pages) was published in 2009 and republished in 2015 by Aleksander Orbeliani Society.
Translation from English The Prophet by Gibran Khalil Gibran (117 pages) was published in 2013 and republished in 2023 by The Academia Book.
Translation from English Cockatoos (four short novels) by Patrick White (222 pages) was published by “Intelekti” in 2015.
In 2013 she was awarded by Literary Prize “Saguramo” for the best translation of the year.
In 2019 she received Letter of Thanks for the improving of cultural relationships between Georgia and Lebanon.
